On February 27, 2025, Citizen took a significant leap in its watchmaking journey with the launch of Citizen Premier, a division focused on high-end craftsmanship and advanced technology. Unveiled at Freedom Tower in NYC by Managing Director Eric Horowitz, this launch reinforces Citizen’s dedication to blending innovation with refined design while maintaining its commitment to exceptional value.
A Night to Remember
The event was a spectacular affair, highlighted by Executive Chef Reuel Vincent of ONE Dine at One World Observatory, who curated a menu inspired by Citizen Premier watches. The breathtaking views of the Empire State Building—home to Citizen’s U.S. headquarters—added a symbolic touch to the occasion.
Introducing Citizen Premier’s First Collections
Citizen Premier debuts with two key collections:
- Series 8 – Modern sports watches featuring automatic movements
- Attesa – Crafted from Super Titanium with Citizen’s renowned Eco-Drive technology
These collections position Citizen as a serious contender in the luxury-adjacent market, offering sophisticated timepieces packed with horological excellence.
Spotlight: Series 8 NB6051-59L
Once exclusive to Japan, the Series 8 collection has gained global recognition since its 2021 worldwide release. A standout from this lineup is the Ice Blue NB6051-59L, a limited-edition model featuring:
- 40mm stainless steel case with a refined 1970s-inspired design
- Ice Blue textured dial, evoking sunlight on ocean waves
- 100m water resistance, sapphire crystal, and recessed crown
- H-shaped bracelet with brushed and polished finishes
Precision Meets Artistry
The watch is powered by Citizen’s in-house Calibre 9051, a 4Hz automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve. While its accuracy falls between -10 to +20 seconds per day, the watch’s design, durability, and exclusivity make it a compelling choice.
Limited Edition Availability
Only 1,800 pieces of the NB6051-59L will be produced, with a global release in March 2025, priced at $1,095 USD.
